Invitation to Participate in the Lunar Capital Youth League Academy

We are almost complete with the first intake of the 2022 Lunar Capital Youth League Academy programme. We are now ready to take on the second intake of the Academy for 2022. If you are under 35 and would like to learn about investing, this is your opportunity to apply for this programme, which is run free of charge!

At Lunar Capital, our core purpose is to meaningfully impact the investment culture of communities and people whose lives we touch. We believe that learning is foundational to creating a strong investment culture in South Africa. Therefore, one of our initiatives is to create the Lunar Capital Youth League to upskill the investment knowledge of young investors. We ran our first programme in the first half of this year, and we are excited to announce that we will be having our next programme, starting in July 2022.

The upcoming programme of the Lunar Capital Youth League will be 10 sessions run from July to November and will be hosted by our CEO, Sabir. We will cover the different investment themes, the Lunar Capital Investment Framework, and the approach to analysing specific stocks and managing your portfolio. The Lunar Capital Youth League will start on 18 July 2022 and thereafter will be held every second Monday after that. We aim to have ten Zoom sessions of between 45-60 minute, starting at 5pm.

The Lunar Capital Youth League has 12 spots available and is open to our existing clients (or prospective clients) who are between the ages of 18-35 years old. If you are interested, send us a brief motivation (no more than 80 words) by Monday the 21st of June 2022, letting us know why you would like to join. Send your response to [email protected].

Dear Lunar Clients

We are in the process of extending our Lunar Youth League to our existing clients and we would like you to join!

At Lunar Capital, our core purpose is to meaningfully impact the investment culture of communities and people whose lives we touch. We believe that learning is foundational to creating a strong investment culture in South Africa. Therefore, one of our initiatives was to create the Lunar Youth League to upskill the investment knowledge of our young investors. We pilot tested this concept over the last year and are pleased to announce that we will be extending it in the new year.

The upcoming phase of the Lunar Youth League will be a: bi-monthly investment-class hosted by our CEO, Sabir. We will cover the different investment themes, the Lunar investment-frameworks, and the approach to analysing specific stocks. The Lunar Youth League will start in mid-January 2022. We aim to have ten 45-minute sessions starting at 5pm, every second Monday for six months.

The Youth League has 12 spots available and is open to our existing clients who are between the ages of 18-35 years old. If you are interested, send us a brief paragraph (no more than 80 words) by Monday the 22nd of November 2021, letting us know why you would like to join. Send your response to [email protected].

Lunar BCI Worldwide Flexible Fund

Lunar Capital (Pty) Limited was approved as a registered financial services provider by the Financial Services Board of South Africa in February 2016.

Lunar Capital have partnered with Boutique Collective Investments (RF) (Pty) Limited to establish the Lunar BCI Worldwide Flexible Fund (LBWFA). The fund was approved by the Registrar of Collective Investment Schemes in April 2016 and the fund will be launched in May 2016. Lunar Capital has been appointed as the investment manager of the fund.

The Lunar BCI Worldwide Flexible fund will primarily be an equity fund invested in South Africa and offshore. The fund will be biased to the technology (IT, biotech, energy, media, etc.), healthcare, financial services and consumer sectors. The Fund will focus on investments that provide long-term growth potential subject to Lunar Capital’s valuation criteria.
